Kaitlyn Jones has just been told that the love of her life is dead. While devastated about the news, dealing with the grief and filled with skepticism about the incident, Kaitlyn discovers that the circumstances of Tom's death are shady enough to require an investigation. However when the police are unable to help her she becomes consumed in her own investigation, which quickly secures her a position in the police force.
In spite of this great start, when Kaitlyn discovers her fathers' murderer her actions inevitably throw it all away. This one unfortunate incident plummets her into a spiraling depression that forces her to loose all faith in the system she was sworn to protect and get fired. Unemployed, homeless and drinking, Kaitlyn decides to give up on it all, but her actions always have consequences and what happens to her next is only the beginning.
