Kathleen J. Shields began writing short stories for fun when she was twelve years old. Believing that by having an active imagination she was not only capable of keeping herself occupied she discovered she was talented enough to entertain others as well. As her creative writing ability grew over the years, it landed her a job in her high school's Literary Magazine. Once she became aware that her stories could be read and enjoyed by others, she began the path to fully realize her dream. It was the support of two influential English teachers, her mother (always the supportive cheerleader), and Kathleen's very own active imagination that led her to the path of becoming a writer.
Years later, Kathleen has followed her dreams no matter what
life has thrown her way and whatever obstacles have been placed before her.
While juggling a home business, managing a retail outlet, teaching herself
graphics design and website design as well as trying to live up to her dream
of becoming a published author, Kathleen was able to complete her first
novel of a series during the summer of 2002.
With the next book of this series just about ready for its debut, many more story ideas flowing from her head each day, dozens of new characters screaming for attention to be heard and many more plots thickening; Kathleen's career in the writing business is blasting off. Keep your eyes peeled for future Kaitlyn Jones books and other soon-to-be-released novels by Kathleen J. Shields.
